So…its the end of the month, where is the iPhone app?

August 4th, 2008

The end of the month has come and gone and searching for Brightkite in the iPhone App Store yields no results. So…where is the Brightkite App you are asking? Well, it is delayed, but be assured that we are working day and night to release it to you.

We did say it would be ready at the end of the month, so for retribution while you wait, feel free to throw some tomatoes at us. Thank you for your patience.

Would rather use a more finished product than a rushed one - worth the wait I bet :)

I'll second Robb's comment. Transparency is much appreciated, and the sense of humor is a nice touch. I would much rather wait for good software than download a 1.0 that barely works. Keep up the great work guys!

Meh, all that matters is that you've added SPOT support. :)

Also, if you guys need some beta testers, I'd be happy to hop on board. You know there's a way to distribute your app to 100 iPhone owners using their phone's UDID right? I'd totally be down for doing that.

Thanks for the response, I was the one that tweeted asking about it this morning. I agree that I'd rather wait for something tried and tested, judging from some of the lame ones I've already tried. In the future though it's probably best not to give a date if you can't guarantee it, it just builds false hopes!

While I am anxiously awaiting the iPhone app, I'd rather you take your time and make sure it's up to your expectations before release. :)

looking forward to the app, but as others said, I'd rather a finished product than rushed. Glad to see you guys being upfront with your users about the delay and having some fun with it.

You guys are very humble and open and that's import. My husband would be willing to hold out for a well developed application. Thanks

FYI: There's currently a race between you and gypsii to release the first geo-social networking iPhone app that works in Canada. (There's no sign that Loopt or Whrrl will support Canada anytime soon.)
