Any reason why the app wouldn't pick up my location? Looking at it now and it just says "Finding you…" and keeps working without finding anything. It is getting my location, bc when I hit "pick a place," it finds places near me. Just not locating me on the front screen.

If you need an invite just send me a DM on twitter (@waynesutton ) or a tweet reply with your email address & I'll send you an invite.

Also I just recorded a video demo of brightkite here: http://iphonesinrtp.com/2008/10/21/iphone-app-vid...

Oh it's amazing. I just drove around the block just to play around with it, and was amazed at how well it found all of the stuff around me, even in the middle of a very remote Atlanta suburb… loopt couldn't even figure out what *city* I was in, but this app told me the exact address, and every restaurant and store there. Man… I hope you guys have some massive servers and bandwidth.. 'cause this is going to take off once people see how well it works. :) Now we just need a facebook app. *runs* (kidding; the RSS feeds will work for now).

As for the Brightkite iPhone app's "Guess My Location"/"Find Me". Is it using Loki Mobile?

Hi there, The app looks nice. I'm running on an iTouch it works but I keep getting a "having trouble finding you" error, even though I have finding turned off.

Hey Brady & Co — my stupid friends (heh) are whining because of the beta thing. Maybe you guys should put something on the app page that explains the private beta thing so people don't download it and get all whiney and 1-star it in the App store?

I tried to explain to 'em that you guys have to make sure the iPhone client doesn't overload servers/etc, but they're still … well… whiney. Maybe I just need better friends… ;-)

Tell your friends to use the following link to sign up: http://brightkite.com/account/signup?invite_code=... The app description says you need an invite but maybe its not apparent enough. We are fixing it now. The next release will have sign up built in :)

Random question (I don't know where else to ask stupid little questions like this, since it doesn't belong in the support system), but how can I score one of those awesome BrightKite stickers I've seen on a car or two here in town? ;-)

Hey xtex404, you can send a self addressed stamped envelope to:

      Brightkite
      2911 Walnut Street
      Denver, CO 80205

And we'll get you some stickers. :)
